Meanwhile, Mecklenburg County was able to grind out a solid victory over Lunenburg Central on Friday, taking the game 14-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mecklenburg County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Savion Johnson, who rushed for 101 yards on only ten carries. Mecklenburg County also got help from Alvian Lewis, who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.
Mecklenburg County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Javontae Haskins was especially locked on to Lunenburg Central's QB and sacked him twice. Haskins also set a new season high mark in total tackles with seven.
The win got Martinsville back to even at 2-2. As for Mecklenburg County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
