Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Raiders 56-54. The win was some much needed relief for Pompano Beach as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Jonathan Berwig, who scored 26 points along with six assists and five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Mason Rowan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Pompano Beach's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Glades Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Pompano Beach is on the road again on Thursday and plays Calvary Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Calvary Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pompano Beach in Florida (Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 14th, while Pompano Beach is ranked 465th). Glades Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
