Basketball Recap: Ethan Foster's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hilton Head Christian Academy over Patrick Henry Academy

Hilton Head Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Patrick Henry Academy Patriots. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Foster, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Foster a new career-high in rebounds. Jake Wood was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Rowen Croft was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 23 en route to 31 points in addition to six boards and five assists for Patrick Henry Academy. Croft is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Adkins, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Patrick Henry Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-13 record.

Hilton Head Christian Academy will square off against Trinity Collegiate at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Patrick Henry Academy, they will challenge Colleton Prep Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 28th.
