Oswego had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Plainfield East on Wednesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Bengals. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 17 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaelynn Anthony was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Adalynn Fugitt was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs. Aubriella Garza was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Oswego always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plainfield East only posted an OBP of .176.

Oswego's victory was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Plainfield East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.

Coming up, Oswego will face off against Romeoville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Plainfield East, they will take on Minooka at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Bengals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
