Hanover-Horton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Sand Creek Aggies 12-3. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.
Channing Hull was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Weston Dick looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last two games.
Back at the plate, Brady Pond was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas NaDell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Hanover-Horton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matchups.
Hanover-Horton pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sand Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Hanover-Horton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-10 loss against Lumen Christi Catholic on the 26th. As for Sand Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-4 defeat against Madison on the 28th.
