Two dominant backs in Nikolai Meltser and Jaiden Fore are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Avon Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Bristol Eastern Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Avon is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Avon fell victim to South Windsor's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a tough 22-0 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats. That's two games in a row now that Avon has lost by exactly 22 points.
Meanwhile, Bristol Eastern came up short against Edwin O. Smith on Friday and fell 24-14.
Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Bristol Eastern, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3.
Avon strolled past Bristol Eastern in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 by a score of 24-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Avon since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
