While it was all tied up 34-34 at halftime, the Tamaqua Blue Raiders were not quite the Pottsville Crimson Tide's equal in the second half on Saturday. Tamaqua fell 68-60 to Pottsville. That's two games in a row now that Tamaqua has lost by exactly eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pottsville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kole Becker, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Becker scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Alvarez, who scored 17 points.
Tamaqua now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Pottsville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Tamaqua will head out on the road to challenge Lehighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lehighton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for Pottsville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jim Thorpe at 7:30 p.m. Jim Thorpe is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
