The Morristown Yellow Jackets have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past Cambridge City Lincoln with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 40-21.
Morristown found their leader in underclassman Jayla Keithley, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Keithley scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Emma Nelson, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Morristown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-10 record this season. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morristown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they will be playing at home against Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Centerville is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
