The Pueblo West Cyclones stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 71-4 victory over Pueblo South. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-0.
Pueblo West was led to victory by Jamie Suazo and Teren Sanchez. Suazo scored 15 points along with six steals, while Sanchez scored 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanchez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna McGraw, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pueblo South struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pueblo West pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Pueblo West's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Pueblo South, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pueblo West will take on the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Pueblo County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Pueblo South, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Red-Tailed Hawks at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Cheyenne Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Thursday.
