The Gresham Gophers lost against the Century Jaguars back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Gresham fell just short of Century by a score of 43-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gresham in their matchups with Century: they've now lost four in a row.
Kami Carmean was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 steals for Century. The contest was Carmean's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Abbie Scharringhausen was another key contributor, scoring five points along with ten rebounds.
Gresham has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Century, they pushed their record up to 5-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gresham will stay at home for another game and welcome Barlow at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Century will take on Aloha at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
