Whitmer has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Northview Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Whitmer's game was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 51-41 win over Bowling Green. The win was just what Whitmer needed coming off of a 72-43 defeat in their prior match.
Whitmer had a senior duo take command as Mackenzie Royal-davis scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals and Jada Shoup scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Bralynne Dunn, who scored six points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Northview put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southview 47-19 on the road. Given Northview's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Southview is ranked 665th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whitmer's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for Northview, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Whitmer came up short against Northview in their previous matchup back in January, falling 48-42. Will Whitmer have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
