With a playoff win on the line, Geneva rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Master's Academy Eagles as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 17 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Dallas Esperas was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Ingram, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Bastian, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Master's Academy only posted an OBP of .167.
The win was the ninth in a row for Geneva, bringing their record up to 20-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Master's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.
As of now, neither Geneva nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
