It was a good run, but the Community Baptist Christian Kings unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 55-42 to Lakecrest Baptist. While losing is never fun, Community Baptist Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Lakecrest Baptist is ranked 88th).
Despite the loss, Community Baptist Christian still got an impressive performance from Kade Hunt, who scored 15 points. Hunt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kendall Williams, who scored nine points.
Community Baptist Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-1. As for Lakecrest Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Baptist Christian will square off against Juniata Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Juniata Christian has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. Lakecrest Baptist will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Bloomfield Christian School at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
