Dwyer is 1-7 against American Heritage since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dwyer Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the American Heritage Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
American Heritage will be up against a hot Dwyer team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Everything went Dwyer's way against Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday as Dwyer made off with a 12-4 win.
Sean Panzack looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Dwyer got a massive performance out of Rocco Bianco, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Colten Stephens, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Dwyer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palm Beach Gardens only hit seven hits.
Meanwhile, American Heritage made easy work of Schoolhouse Prep on Thursday and carried off a 9-1 victory.
Mark Aleman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Chris Levy and Sebastian Garavito did most of the damage at the plate: Levy got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Garavito went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Rich, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
The win got American Heritage back to even at 1-1. As for Dwyer, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Dwyer was able to grind out a solid win over American Heritage in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, winning 10-5. Does Dwyer have another victory up their sleeve, or will American Heritage turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
