The Ocean View Seahawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Ocean View had a senior duo take command as Brayden Ackerman scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals and Aaron Phan scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Cavin Flanagan was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Palo Verde Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ezekiel Gibson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Gibson set a new season high mark in blocks with four. Another player making a difference was Yasias Green, who scored 12 points along with three blocks.
Palo Verde Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ocean View racked up 16 assists.
Ocean View has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Palo Verde Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
