Make it seven blowout wins for the Ayersville Pilots this season. They breezed by Holgate on the road to the tune of 56-23. The victory was just business as usual for Ayersville, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Leading Ayersville to victory were Taylor Craft and Ally Schindler. Craft scored seven points along with six rebounds and five blocks, while Schindler scored nine points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Craft hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Aeriel Brown, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Ayersville's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Holgate, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ayersville will take on Hicksville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hicksville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 720th, while Ayersville is ranked 75th). As for Holgate, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome North Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. North Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
