The Garfield Bulldogs had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 72-51 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Garfield, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Roughriders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Curtis, who scored 12 points. Giselle Dollar was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 3 steals.
Garfield's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Seattle Prep the next time they take the court. Roosevelt will host Seattle Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Garfield will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th.
