The Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos won the last time they faced the Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Fort Bend Marshall blew past Fort Bend Willowridge 42-14 at home. The result was nothing new for Fort Bend Marshall, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Fort Bend Marshall found their leader in underclassman Peyton Long, who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Durell Taylor, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
The win makes it two in a row for Fort Bend Marshall and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.5 points per game. As for Fort Bend Willowridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Bend Marshall will face off against Galena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Galena Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 703rd, while Fort Bend Marshall is ranked 168th). As for Fort Bend Willowridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Dayton at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
