The Lowry Buckaroos entered their tilt with the Dayton Dust Devils with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Lowry simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Dayton 68-34 on the road. With Lowry ahead 42-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Leading Lowry to victory were Britain Backus and Savannah Stoker. Backus scored 25 points along with five steals, while Stoker scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stoker has scored at least a third of Lowry's points. Khlloe Shorey was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Dayton had strong showings from Ayisha Agee, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Aileen Hernandez, who scored ten points along with two steals. Agee is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.
Dayton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lowry racked up 16 assists.
Lowry is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Dayton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.
Lowry will head out on the road to challenge Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fernley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Dayton, they will be playing at home against Churchill County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Churchill County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Wednesday.
