The Madison Trojans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They snuck past Clinton with a 49-43 victory. Given Madison's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Clinton is ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Madison's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaeda Parish, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamairah Powers, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Madison pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Clinton, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Madison will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will head out on the road to challenge Dundee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton is facing Dundee at the right time seeing as Dundee is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
