The Washburn Pirates can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They blew past White Academy 72-13 on the road. Washburn's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Washburn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ebany Hill, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Hill pulled down eight or more rebounds. Saylor Clay was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five steals.
Washburn used a slightly different lineup for their bout with White Academy. And. Taylie Proffitt made the most of the opportunity, scoring five points along with five assists. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
The win was the 14th in a row for Washburn, bringing their record for this year to 21-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for White Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.
