The Presentation Toppers are taking a road trip to face off against the Waggener Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Presentation turned things around against Jeffersontown on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Chargers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Toppers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Waggener came out on top against Seneca on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 15-run second inning. The Wildcats blew past the Red Hawks 19-3. The Wildcats have beaten the Red Hawks the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Hawks has come to flipping the script.
Kemariyeh Gregory made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Gregory was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five stolen bases, and four runs. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Coubert and Ava Pettit did most of the damage at the plate: Coubert went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Pettit went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Pettit a new career-high. Mackenzie Carmer also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Waggener always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Waggener now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Presentation, their record is now 4-5.
Presentation might still be hurting after the 15-8 loss they got from Waggener in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Toppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
