Softball Recap: Wagner Has No Trouble Against Midwood

Wagner never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Midwood Hornets as they made off with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matchups by 14 runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Wagner and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Midwood, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wagner will square off against Grand Street Campus at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Midwood, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on New Dorp at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Central Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
