The Air Academy Kadets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 42-25 bruising from Falcon. Air Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Falcon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Air Academy still got an impressive performance from Gabe Dillemuth, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. Madax Daniels was another key contributor, throwing for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Leading Falcon to victory were Carter Thorp and Gabriel Mcfarland. Thorp rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Mcfarland rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Mcfarland was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Littrell, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Air Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Falcon, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Air Academy will take on Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rampart is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Falcon, they will head out on the road to face off against Mesa Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mesa Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Falcon in Colorado (Mesa Ridge is ranked 33rd, while Falcon is ranked 87th).
