Miami had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Everything went their way against the Alchesay Falcons as they made off with a 13-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vandals, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Miami pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Alchesay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Miami and Alchesay could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Vandals will challenge Joseph City at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (137 vs. 39). Meanwhile, Alchesay (ranked 209th) will meet Show Low (ranked 49th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
