The Crosshill Christian Eagles will head out to face off against the Central Linn Cobras at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosshill Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Crosshill Christian gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over Regis. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the match before.
The team relied heavily on Wesley Zorn, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayden Isaacson, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Linn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Santiam by a score of 4-1 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Beau Snyder tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for Central Linn: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Central Linn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Helms, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Helms has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Central Linn's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Crosshill Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-3.
Crosshill Christian couldn't quite get it done against Central Linn in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
