After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bernstein, The Roybal Titans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Belmont 47-6 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Roybal, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Max Ibarra was a one-man wrecking crew for Roybal as he threw for 279 yards and six touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Ibarra is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Gonzalo Chavarria was another key contributor, picking up 92 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Roybal's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Belmont, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Roybal will square off against Contreras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Contreras is ranked 996th, while Roybal is ranked 1010th). As for Belmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mendez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mendez comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
