On Saturday, South Houston ended up a good deal behind Santa Fe and lost 38-20.
Leading Santa Fe to victory were Hayven Martinez and Hannah Doerre. Martinez scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists, while Doerre scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals. Doerre hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Gracie Rambin, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
South Houston has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Santa Fe, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
South Houston will be playing at home against Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Lake has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. As for Santa Fe, they will head out on the road to face off against Texas City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Texas City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
