Adam Tinsman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Benjamin Logan's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Soli Hughes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Urbana not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 12-2). They put the hurt on Graham Local with a sharp 14-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hillclimbers.
Grady Lantz made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Lantz was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Urbana: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Colt Teepe was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jackson Wilheim was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Urbana lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Benjamin Logan's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Urbana, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
