Valley and Santa Teresa squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Corbin Torres was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Foulk, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Santa Teresa, they pushed their record up to 23-3-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

While Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
