The Kimball Longhorns entered their tilt with the Hemingford Bobcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Kimball strolled past Hemingford with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-44. Kimball pushed the score to 53-26 by the end of the third, a deficit Hemingford cut but never quite recovered from.
Leading Kimball to victory were Kyler Lusche and Brandon Paxton. Lusche dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Paxton dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Lusche has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last five times he's played. Braxton Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Kimball pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Hemingford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimball will take on Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kimball has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hemingford, they will be playing at home against Bayard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hemingford is facing Bayard at the right time seeing as Bayard is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
