The Tracy Bulldogs typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Downey Knights proved too difficult a challenge. Downey enjoyed a cozy 27-10 win over Tracy. The win was familiar territory for Downey who now have three in a row.
Leading Downey to victory were Carson Lamb and Joseph Ramirez. Lamb threw for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Ramirez gained 82 total yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Downey's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Ismael Lopez and his two sacks.
Downey is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 10-1 record this season. As for Tracy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Downey will face off against Rocklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocklin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Downey in California (Rocklin is ranked 25th, while Downey is ranked 125th). Tracy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
