Softball Recap: Robinson Comes Up Short

Robinson was the 6-3 winner over South County when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams came up short against the Stallion on Thursday, falling 12-6. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Marina Palazzo and Izzy Covey did some serious damage despite the final result: Palazzo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Covey went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Cohn, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for South County, they moved to 13-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robinson will welcome Woodson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for South County, they will take on West Potomac in a tournament on Monday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.82 runs per game on average), something the Stallion will no doubt try to take advantage of.
