The Overland Trailblazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 53-37 fall against Cherry Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Overland has scored all season.
Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Destiny Moore, who scored nine points along with three steals. Seilani Relford was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cherry Creek was led to victory by Braelynn Barnett and Julia Leach. Barnett scored 12 points, while Leach scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Molly Dorighi, who scored four points along with two blocks.
Overland's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cherry Creek, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Overland will head out on the road to face off against the Wolves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Cherry Creek will take on the Raptors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Eaglecrest is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
