Manvel is 9-1 against Santa Fe since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Manvel Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Indians at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Manvel is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Fe in Texas (Manvel is ranked 293rd, while Santa Fe is ranked 777th).
Manvel unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 67-60 to Friendswood. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Texas City. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Santa Fe has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cooper Baldridge, who scored five points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenny Torres, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Manvel's record now sits at 11-15. As for Santa Fe, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
Manvel strolled past Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 70-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Santa Fe's Nick Jaco, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Manvel to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
