After having lost a blowout in their previous game against El Camino, Canyon Crest Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Vista Panthers 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Grace Yao spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophie Kearse, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Canyon Crest Academy's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-9-1. As for Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Canyon Crest Academy will square off against San Dieguito Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Vista, they will challenge Fallbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
