Basketball Recap: St. David Takes Down Dishchii'bikoh in a Playoff Battle

St. David had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Dishchii'bikoh Wildcats, posting a 66-32 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

St. David's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gracey Crockett, who almost dropped a triple-double with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and nine steals. The game was Crockett's third in a row with at least 16 points. Emelynn Jacquez was another key player, going 8-for-12 en route to 22 points along with six steals and five boards.

St. David was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

St. David is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 20-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.8 points over those games. As for Dishchii'bikoh, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rock Point comes in on 12 and St. David on four. Dishchii'bikoh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
