Basketball Recap: Lee Park Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sheets Memorial Christian last Friday, Lee Park Prep came back down to earth. The Lee Park Prep Knights fell 55-48 to Gospel Light Christian on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with Gospel Light Christian: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lee Park Prep lost, don't look at Isaac Watkins. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 17 en route to 24 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Watkins has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brody Adams, who posted three points along with six rebounds and three steals.

It was another big night for Cynsere Carver, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards for Gospel Light Christian. Samuel Sisk was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points.

Lee Park Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Gospel Light Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Lee Park Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-32 victory against The Fletcher School on the 24th. As for Gospel Light Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-52 win against Vandalia Christian on the 24th.
