After flying high against the Grace Christian Lions last Monday, the Lake Pointe Academy Mariners came back down to earth. Lake Pointe Academy was dealt a 70-38 defeat at the hands of Hampton Park Christian on Tuesday. Lake Pointe Academy was down 52-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
It was another big night for Seth Moeder, who scored 25 points along with nine blocks and eight rebounds for Hampton Park Christian. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moeder has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Gearhart, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Lake Pointe Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Hampton Park Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Lake Pointe Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bob Jones Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Hampton Park Christian, they will be playing at home against Our Lady of the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of the Rosary will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Hampton Park Christian is ranked 58th).
