Lauren McMahon was another key contributor,  going 4-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 Meanwhile, sadly, Cary is still looking for their first win of the season after 13  matches. They fell victim to a  tough 23-0 defeat at the hands of Panther Creek  on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13  runs in the game before, Cary's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 Apex pushed their record up to 10-4 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 17.5 runs per game. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
