Granville is 8-2 against Fort Ann since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Granville Golden Horde will be playing at home against the Fort Ann Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Granville has three straight wins, Fort Ann has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Granville beat Argyle 64-51.
Granville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Jennings, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Liam Farrell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Fort Ann suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Warrensburg, falling 84-51. While losing is never fun, Fort Ann can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 779th, while Warrensburg is ranked 346th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kadynce Cutter, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Javier Hernandez, who scored 13 points.
Granville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Fort Ann, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Granville hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.4 points per game. It's a different story for Fort Ann, though, as they've been averaging only 34.9 points per game. The only thing between Granville and another offensive beatdown is Fort Ann. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Granville against Fort Ann when the teams last played on January 3rd as the team secured a 74-24 win. Will Granville repeat their success, or does Fort Ann have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
