Howard is 1-9 against Centennial since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Howard Lions will square off against the Centennial Eagles at TBD. One thing working in Howard's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Even though Howard has not done well against Atholton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Howard managed a 61-56 win over Atholton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Centennial ended up a good deal behind Long Reach on Wednesday and lost 60-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Centennial has scored all season.
Howard is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Centennial, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Howard came up short against Centennial when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 52-48. Can Howard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
