Ben Gonzalez and Dylan Ball certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Gonzalez rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while Ball gained 122 total yards and two touchdowns. Those 99 rushing yards gave Gonzalez a new career-high.
Hughson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Escalon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hughson will face off against Sonora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
