The Glendora Tartans will take on the Claremont Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Glendora will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Glendora's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Diamond Bar. The result was nothing new for the Tartans, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Glendora got a great performance from Gianna Messick as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Messick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kylie Coleman was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Glendora kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Claremont ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Bonita 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolfpack have posted since May 6, 2025.
Khloe Moran was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Daneli Becerra, who went 2-for-6 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Glendora's win bumped their record up to 21-2-2. As for Claremont, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Glendora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. However, it's not like Claremont struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Glendora got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Claremont by a conclusive 13-5 score. Will the Tartans repeat their success, or do the Wolfpack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
