The Kentridge Chargers will face off against the Auburn Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kentridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Kentridge will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Interlake on Monday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Saints. Considering the Chargers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jozi Thompson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Naomi Benavides, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sam Holbrook, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Kentridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Interlake only posted an OBP of .273.
Meanwhile, Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against South Whidbey, falling 16-1.
Auburn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivory Brodie, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Kentridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Auburn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kentridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Auburn, though, as they've only averaged .198. Will they be able to contain Kentridge's hitters?
Everything went Kentridge's way against Auburn in their previous meeting on April 3rd, as Kentridge made off with a 16-0 win. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
