Jefferson has gone a perfect 8-0 against Pendleton County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcat at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jefferson has three straight victories, Pendleton County has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Jefferson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Keyser 9-0. Considering the Cougars have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Keyser's batters probably weren't too happy with Mason Lowery, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (he gave up two walks). Lowery has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jefferson let Nayan Dominguez and Andrew Rolfe run wild. Dominguez went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Rolfe got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Dominguez has posted since back in April. Ben Popek also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keyser only posted an OBP of .160.
Meanwhile, Pendleton County came up short against Petersburg on Monday and fell 5-1.

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jefferson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Pendleton County struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jefferson got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Pendleton County by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Wildcat have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
