The Pensacola Catholic Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Pensacola Catholic put up the most points they have all season on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 26-5 margin over Booker T. Washington. The Crusaders not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.

Regan Thornhill made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Thornhill was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Smith, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and five runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Brynlie McLaughlin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Pensacola Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .638. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rocky Bayou Christian gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Lighthouse Private Christian Academy 27-5. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Audra Morgan was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Morgan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Skyler Dill-Langley was incredible, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Dill-Langley is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Nance, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Rocky Bayou Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Pensacola Catholic's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8.
Pensacola Catholic might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Rocky Bayou Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2018. Can Pensacola Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
