Basketball Game Preview: Cassopolis Rangers vs. Hartford Huskies

Cassopolis is 9-1 against Hartford since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Cassopolis Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Hartford Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Cassopolis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season.

Cassopolis took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-52 victory over Marcellus.

Cassopolis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucas Williams led the charge by putting up 18 points along with six assists and six steals. Those six assists gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Pratt, who posted 22 points and six boards.

Williams wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Cassopolis was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marcellus only posted ten assists.

Meanwhile, Hartford won against Gobles on Monday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Hartford came out on top against White Pigeon by a score of 54-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Cassopolis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Hartford, their record now sits at 8-1.

Cassopolis and Hartford were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but Cassopolis came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Cassopolis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
