The Pine View Panthers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Snow Canyon Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
Last Friday, Pine View came up short against the Thunder and fell 55-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pine View has scored all season.
Nash Schroeder put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points along with five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last four games he's played. Caleb Schmitt was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Meanwhile, Snow Canyon entered their tilt with the Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Snow Canyon came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 64-53 on Wednesday. 64 seems to be a good number for Snow Canyon as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Owen Mackay was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trey Kelsch, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Pine View's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Snow Canyon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Pine View skirted past the Warriors 61-58 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mackay, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Pine View still be able to contain Mackay? There's only one way to find out.
