Westside is 9-1 against the Eagles since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Westside Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greenwood Eagles at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Westside's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Westside proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 49) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Greenville 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Westside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kmajay Jenkins, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Jenkins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zeke Marshall, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Greenwood's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Greenville 60-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Greenwood in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.
Westside's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Greenwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.
Everything went Westside's way against the Eagles when the teams last played two weeks ago as the Rams made off with a 62-41 victory. Will Westside repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
